Intelligent monitoring in the ICU
Cyban
In the ICU, around the clock monitoring is vital.
Cyban is a transformative oxygen measuring sensor application and platform used to monitor brain oxygen levels in ICU patients. The technology is a radical step forward in patient care. Currently the only alternative for preventing brain damage caused by oxygen flow depletion is reviewing eye dilation (inaccurate and requires direct engagement), brain scans (expensive and doesn’t provide real time monitoring) or drilling a hole in the head (invasive and not ideal).
The opportunity has come through the work of ICU specialist Dr Barry Dixon. Dr. Dixon was the Head of Intensive Care Research at St Vincent’s Hospital for 15 years and has a substantial understanding of patient needs and the diagnostic workflow in intensive care.
