Biography

Amanda had an extensive career in senior management and operational roles until moving into a career as an angel investor and mentor. Her prior executive roles include COO of Burra Foods, Senior Public Affairs of BHP and founder of Lark Public Relations. Her family has been in dairy manufacturing for four generations until 2019 when the family sold the company.

In 2014, she joined Scale Investors, Australia’s first professionalised angel investor network investing in female founders. She was asked to take on a co-CEO role in 2017 while the CEO was on maternity leave. In that role she was responsible for portfolio investments, ecosystem engagement and stakeholder management. She then went on to lead a Victorian Government funded project to deliver a cloud-based education platform for early-stage investors which was rolled out in 2018.

With a sector agnostic portfolio of early-stage investments Amanda continues her involvement with Scale Investors and the broader Victorian ecosystem through mentoring with Swinburne University, Hacker Exchange, CiVic Labs and involvement in a number of start-up companies. She manages an investment portfolio of over 10 private companies including fintech startups Six Park and FirstStep, and edutech start up TalkiPlay Pty Ltd.

Amanda’s non-executive director roles include Burra Foods Pty Ltd, V/Line Pty Ltd, Anglicare Victoria Ltd, Golf Victoria, Scotch College Foundation, Skyline Education Foundation Australia.

Amanda is a Fellow of the Institute of Company Directors, a Wade Institute alumni and Life Member of Museum of Victoria.
